Categories of Personal Data
MatchQuest processes only personal data required to provide adult singles events and private matchmaking:
- Account identity: email address, hashed password, first and last name.
- Profile information: birth date, gender, height, education, dating preferences, introduction, and profile photos.
- Event participation: bookings, tickets, check-in timestamps, and attendance status.
- Post-event feedback: private choices submitted after an event. One-sided interest is never disclosed; only mutual interest unlocks a mutual connection.
- Messaging: direct communication between verified mutual connections.
- Payment tokens: payments are securely processed by Stripe. We do not store raw credit card numbers.
Legal Bases for Processing
We process personal data in strict accordance with Article 6 GDPR:
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: Performance of contract (account operation, event booking, ticket issuance, mutual connection matching).
- Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR: Compliance with legal obligations (commercial tax retention and accounting records).
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: Legitimate interests (platform security, preventing harassment, safety reports, abuse prevention).
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR: Consent (voluntary marketing newsletters, optional analytics cookies).
Your Rights Under GDPR
Under Articles 15–21 GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data, rectify inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, obtain your data in a portable format, and object to processing. You may exercise your rights via Account settings or by emailing privacy@matchquest.de.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
Data Retention & Account Erasure
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose or statutory tax retention periods (up to 10 years for invoice records under § 147 AO / § 257 HGB). You can request complete account deletion at any time in Account > Privacy.
